Andrew is the General Manager of the Mt. Ashland Ski Area and has for the past two decades led various nonprofit and outdoor recreation agencies. Andrew earned a BSEd in Outdoor Recreation Leadership from the University of Georgia, an MBA in Tourism & Hospitality from Columbia Southern University, and a graduate degree in Ski Area Management from Colorado State University. His professional roles have included service at Southern Oregon University Foundation, Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area, The Hub on Smith, and Boy Scouts of America. He has lent his time and passion to organizations focused on connecting people with nature — organizing an outdoor education center in Sheridan, Wyoming; chairing a committee for the Georgia Conservancy; and helping to establish a water trail on the Yellow River in central Georgia have been a few of his past favorite projects.
Andrew was first introduced to Willow-Witt Ranch through the annual Turtle Trot 5k trail race. An avid mountain ultramarathoner, he excitedly made four laps around the ranch on his first visit and fell in love with the soul of the ranch and the work being done there. Andrew’s passions tie deeply into creating experiences for youth and novices in the outdoors that help them appreciate nature and instill values of conservation and stewardship. He has two children, 11 and 9 years old, and is married to Kristen Gast, a staff leader at SOU.
