Nancy Solano is a PNW local who grew up in Seattle and the surrounding areas. Early on her mom had a vegetable garden. Her earliest memories include eating kohlrabi while working in the garden, picking apples from the trees and her favorite- blackberries from wherever she could find them. Growing up she learned to appreciate natural, local foods. Starting at 16 yo carrying and through until today, her love of the planet, animals and vegetables have combined to make her a (mostly) vegetarian.
Her business and educational background has been varied. It includes a BA from Evergreen State, and afterwards a welder’s certification and blacksmith training. After college she spent 10 years in metal fabrication and blacksmithing. During which she was a founder of the roller derby in Austin, Tx in early 2000 that rebooted the roller derby renaissance that exists today. Her love of metal working brought her to become shop mates with a mini-storage owner. Shortly thereafter she began to manage his business, and after 8 yrs bought it from him. That started her career in property management. She has since grown from that business into many various property types and locations. She has been employed for 20+ yrs as a property manager and business owner, currently including campgrounds, a rooming house, and a 20 acre farm.
She is thrilled her love of the outdoors, healthy foods and background in property management have combined to become a part of the Crest’s team.
