Dear Crest Community,
Every day is a new day at Willow Witt Ranch summer camp! The campers arrive smiling and ready to go for the day. We go on hikes, go exploring, teach them about the outdoors, and are fortunate enough to see all kinds of animals. Some of these animals they see right in their backyard, and for others who travel to camp, they get to see animals they have never seen before. Animals such as deer, western pond turtles, and different species of birds like sandhill cranes.
Each year, a pair of sandhill cranes come to the ranch and nest for a short time. These birds can be hard to see as they take cover in the heat of the day. One morning, during our morning circle with the campers before starting our activities, one of the sandhill cranes flew over the meadow, making its cawing sound. It glided over the field just as the sun touched the meadow—a beautiful and breathtaking sight. It was magical to witness this with the campers and to share the wonders of Willow Witt Ranch with them. – Sara Evans, Camp Instructor
Your generous gift will sponsor youth to attend our summer programs, who otherwise would not be able to afford the cost. This program includes transportation from as far away as Medford and sends campers home with a bag of organic vegetables at the end of the week! $450 covers the cost of camp for a youth for one week.
Thank you for being a part of our mission to get kids out into nature.
