We’re excited to continue sharing pictures and stories from our programs in a fun 3-email series. We hope these special moments will make you smile and want to learn more about what we do at The Crest for our community. Feel free to share these emails with friends and family!

We look forward to your support of The Crest.

In 2025, The Crest served 1,250 students, which is 4% of the K-12 students in the county.

  • $50 covers the summer camp registration fee for 1 student
  • $150 covers the cost of a school group to participate in a farm tour
  • $500 pays for a week of summer camp for one student
  • $1,000 for your name on an engraved stepping stone leading to a wall tent in The Crest Village
  • $2,000 covers the entire cost of the bus to and from camp for one week (transporting kids from throughout the valley)
  • Any amount is always gratefully appreciated

Notable comments from parents, teachers, and staff

Outdoor School students, Field Trip students, and Nature Day Campers were excited to learn about world of plants — in the forest, the meadows, wetlands and vegetable garden.

“Kids finding edible plants was like they found the jackpot. Finding a caterpillar and a lizard were also wow moments for kids.” -Eduardo, The Crest Staff

Said one of the campers, “Johnny Jump-ups taste like cotton candy!”

“My kids ate way more greens than normal because they were ‘special’ from The Crest, so that was great!”  -Nature Day Camp parent

“[My child] thought it was great to be connected to the food and to be bringing it home for his family.”  -Nature Day Camp parent

“Can we pick peas?” was a common daily question during summer camp

Learning about the native wetland areas on Willow-Witt Ranch can be interesting, but students of all ages really enjoy helping to restore and maintain these areas. Every Spring, The CREST, in partnership with Willow-Witt Ranch, plants native willows. Students from Outdoor School programs and school field trips support The CREST and Willow-Witt Ranch in maintaining the native ecosystems on the land.

Suzanne Willow talks to a group of students visiting The Crest

The Crest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

The Crest nonprofit organization relies on donations to support youth programs and give community groups the chance to experience the wonders of nature to learn about and feel a connection to the natural world. Our volunteer opportunities are a great chance to get outside, connect with others and learn more about your local ecosystem. Please consider contributing to this natural legacy by making a tax-deductible donation.
