Single-Day Field Trips

Cultivating Connection

Migrant Education Group

Farm Tour

Arranged in advance, The Crest’s tour of Willow-Witt Ranch weaves together the connections between people, food, and the natural environment. Classes are welcome to bring their lunches to have on site afterwards. We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Pack lunches in re-useable containers.
  • Bring re-fillable water bottles to enjoy our naturally filtered spring water.
  • You will be responsible for collecting and packing out all of your trash. “Pack it in, pack it out.”
  • No dogs (we have working farm dogs on site whose job it is to defend the ranch).

These visits include an interactive tour of the farm, where students come nose-to-snout with goats, visit egg-laying chickens, and have a peek at what is growing in our garden.

Suitable for all ages, these tours bring together Southern Oregon’s historic past, innovative present, and sustainable future as we visit the farm and garden.

Educational Visits

Educational programs are offered to classrooms during the school year. Prices quoted below take into account the limited funds often available to support the actual cost of these trips. If you are able to pay more for your classroom visit, it will go a long way to ensuring that we can continue to offer educational programming. These programs can be customized to meet your students’ needs and interests.

Half-day visits (2-3 hours total) include a farm tour of Willow-Witt Ranch and an environmental science lesson of your choosing from The Crest’s place-based, NGSS-aligned course offerings. Classes are welcome to stay on site afterwards to eat lunch and/or hike!

Full-day visits (4-6 hours total) include an additional lesson and/or hands-on service learning component.

Please contact us if you would like to collaborate to develop a custom program.

Suzanne Willow talks to a group of students visiting The Crest

The Crest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

The Crest nonprofit organization relies on donations to support youth programs and give community groups the chance to experience the wonders of nature to learn about and feel a connection to the natural world. Our volunteer opportunities are a great chance to get outside, connect with others and learn more about your local ecosystem. Please consider contributing to this natural legacy by making a tax-deductible donation.
