The Crest had the joy of hosting a Latinx Community Day in collaboration with Vesper Meadow and Coalición Fortaleza. We began with a vibrant plant ID walk through the blooming meadows of Vesper, where we spotted wildflowers in full color and springtime fungi hiding in the shade! The day wrapped up at Willow-Witt Ranch, where we shared smiles and laughter meeting the goats, chickens and our honorary goose! It was a gorgeous day full of connection, celebration, and meaningful time spent in nature. We’re so grateful to our partners and community for making it such a special experience!
Sunday, June 29th – Nature Journaling
Saturday, July 19th – Moth Night
Stay tuned for registration and more information on these and other upcoming events at The Crest!
As the forest warms for our exciting spring and summer activities at Willow-Witt Ranch, we’re looking for passionate individuals to lend a hand! Whether you’re interested in helping with our garden preparations, assisting with community events, supporting our educational programs, lending a hand in the outdoor school cookhouse, or helping with administrative tasks, we’d love to have you spend time on the land!
Volunteers play a crucial role in making our events and programs a success, and your time and energy help us create meaningful experiences for the community. No matter your capacity, every bit of support is appreciated! If you are interested, please send us a note on our website using the button below.
A big thank you to the small group of volunteers that came out last weekend to help us plant The CREST Pine garden! This will provide produce for summer campers and amazing educational opportunities for all of the youth visiting the Ranch this growing season!
(Camassia-Quamas)
Camassia quamash in is bloom at Willow-Witt Ranch! Look for it at the edges of the Ranch’s forested areas and and wet meadows. It is a perennial herb native to western North America in large areas of southern Canada and the northwestern United States.

(Antigone canadensis)
These two treated us with a wonderful dance! We just had to mention them again. Look for them in the meadows and wetlands as they forage and prepare for nesting, one of many seasonal rhythms that make spring and summer so rich with life on the land!
